St Vincent’s Hospice is challenging golfers in Renfrewshire to tee up and show their support for local hospice care by taking part in the charity’s annual golf day at the beautiful Kilmacolm Golf Club on Friday 28th August.
Colin McEwan led the winning team at the 2014 event. “St Vincent’s Golf Day is a fantastic event – and we managed to win last year at only our sixth attempt!’ he said.
“Team entry is a great way to help raise funds for this wonderful hospice and an ideal opportunity to invite clients along for a game of golf or to spend time with staff away from the office."
"St Vincent's is close to my heart. They cared so well for my dad before he died and for my mum and family before and after his death. To have the opportunity to fundraise whilst playing golf is something my dad would have enjoyed."
"As defending champions, Playsport Golf can't wait for this year’s event. We'll be going all out to make it back to back wins!"
"The day is always fantastic fun on a superb course at Kilmacolm with great prizes up for grabs every year, so entering a team is a no brainer... "
Teams of four will be able to enjoy a welcome breakfast in the Club House before heading out to the tee for 18 holes of golf with their friends or colleagues while enjoying stunning views across the Renfrewshire hills.
After play there is a hot three-course meal and a chance to catch up on the scores of other competitors. There are prizes for the top three teams as well as the awarding of the St Vincent’s Hospice Golf Trophy and a chance to win exciting prizes in the after dinner raffle and auction.
St Vincent’s Hospice Chief Executive, Kate Lennon said “It costs over £40,000 every week to run our hospice and community services, over half of which comes from donations and fundraising. Our Golf Day is just one way that people can help us to raise these much needed funds. We are very grateful to all who are taking part in this competitive but fun day out.”
